Permesso di soggiorno per vacanza-lavoro
The working vacation residence permit is for non-EU citizens who enter Italy on a working vacation visa, provided for in the bilateral agreements that Italy currently has with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan.
This permit allows you to live in Italy for up to one year, carrying out work activities during your stay. The application must be submitted within 8 working days of entering Italy.
Requirements and required documents
The permit can only be applied for by holders of a working vacation visa. It cannot be converted from other types of permits and cannot be applied for without a visa. To apply, it is necessary to have accommodation in Italy, to make the hospitality communication within 48 hours and to have a valid health and accident insurance policy.
Documents to be submitted, in original and photocopy, include:
- 4 passport photos with clear background
- 16 € revenue stamp
- Receipt of payment of the postal bulletin of 30.46 € + 40 € for the annual permit
- Photocopy of passport with stamps and visas
- Statement of hospitality with photocopy of host ID
- Notice of hospitality/assignment of building, to be made within 48 hours to the public safety authority (original + photocopy)
- Insurance policy valid in Italy against illness and accidents
Duration of permit
The working vacation permit has a maximum duration of one year and follows the conditions stipulated in each international agreement. In general, this permit is non-renewable, unless specific exceptions are provided in agreements with individual countries.
