The residence permit <\/a>is issued by the police headquarters <\/a>of the province in which the foreigner is located after the conclusion of the residence contract for work. The duration of the document is indicated in the employment contract<\/strong> but in general it cannot exceed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 9 months<\/strong> for one or more seasonal work <\/strong>contracts;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 1 year<\/strong> for fixed-term employment <\/strong>contracts;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 2 years<\/strong> for permanent employment <\/strong>contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renewal of the residence permit<\/a> must be requested from the police headquarters<\/a> responsible for the province of residence at least 60 days before the expiry date<\/strong>, to verify the conditions envisaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The worker must bring the following documents<\/strong> to the appointment for the renewal of the residence permit for subordinate work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. photocopy of the residence permit<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. photocopy of the passport pages containing personal data<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. photocopy of the employment notification<\/strong> sent to the Employment Center and any extensions \/ transformations or in the case of domestic work, report the employment of the INPS;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. photocopy of the tax return<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. photocopy of the last paycheck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some specific categories, additional documentation must\nbe produced, for example, those who work in the domestic sector must also bring\nto the Police Headquarters appointment a declaration regarding the income\nreceived the previous year drawn up by the employer, a photocopy of the\nidentity and of the employer’s Tax Code and the INPS bulletins on both sides of\nat least the last quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foreign citizen<\/strong> who regularly works in Italy from a socio-sanitary point of view is treated as an Italian worker<\/strong> with the difference that his enrollment in the N.H.S.<\/a> it is valid only for the years indicated in the employment contract.
